We've heard much stranger suggestions on this very blog. In today's Political Wire comes an item on non-denial from none other than Senator John McCain for the Democratic VP nomination. (Thanks to Bruce for pointing it out). This is by no means crazy - McCain and John Kerry are close friends, two veterans who travelled to Vietnam together on the POW/MIA issue. McCain is a pragmatic mid-road Republican, closer in his beliefs to a Bob Graham than to a John Ashcroft. And he has a virulent dislike of one prominent politician - George W. Bush. In my mind, if Kerry asks and McCain agrees (as an independent - he would not actively switch parties), the ballgame is over and they can swear them in now. Kerry-McCain is simply unbeatable by Bush-Cheney. Thoughts?
