And Now For Some Real News
The Mets have traded for the fireballing left-handed ace of the Minnesota Twins, Johann Santana, giving them the best rotation in the National League East. According to USA Today:
The deal is pending the Mets and Santana reaching agreement on a six- or seven-year contract extension and that Santana passes a physical; they have been granted a 48 to-72-hour window to do so. Santana has a no-trade clause that he will waive if agreement is reached on a contract extension.
Santana won the American League Cy Young Award in 2004 and 2006 and is 93-44 lifetime. The Mets gave up centerfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey. Patience clearly paid off for Omar Minaya.
On to Florida! [Port St. Lucie, of course - what, you thought I meant that primary today in which a million Democrats are voting - the one that "won't count."]

Wow. I was just asking a sportswriter friend about these NY Post stories that the Mets could have Santana for a bunch of prospects, but weren't pulling the trigger over or or another of the pieces (who wasn't even a blue chip).
How could that be? I asked. Are the Mets that stupid? Are the Twins? Why wouldn't they take the packages of major-league proven, top-tier prospects available from the Yanks and Sox?
It's all made up, I was told. Post writers gotta fill space with something this time of year. Twins won't move Johan without Reyes, and Mets won't move Reyes.
So much for inside info. This is a HUGE deal for the Mets: exactly what they need, and at a great price (even if these prospects pan out above expectation).
Maybe now Mets fans can break out those caps that used to be ubiquitous, but have been rarer than hen's teeth lo these four months past.

Yeah, this is huge for the Mets - and clearly for their hang-dog fans. I still wore my hat, but I'm an oldster - plenty of scar tissue, but the younger fans were crushed.
This gives them a very fine rotation indeed:
Santara
Pedro
Maine
Perez
Dukie
with Pelfrey as the spot starter when Dukie/Pedro go down for a few weeks...
That's not qite Red Sox caliber, but right up there.

BTW, your source is usually pretty reliable - except about Stones tickets.

One day, I would like to look my friend in a local hospital. I’m not alone, but with my friends, many friends. So because of our noise disturb the medical patient, the security wish us silent.
While we are sitting down in the park, a friend ask us he tell why the nurses, their uniforms is different each other and different in work hours. So how many uniform they have? Another friend then stands up and said, if they have many different uniforms, it means they spent much money to buy it. That’s why their have high salary. I cut the speaking automatically then said, they buy the uniforms in big scale. I ever heard that they buy it through internet. The prices are very competitive but the online store is lower.
To improve my statement, a friend comes to a nurse and ask her that where they buy the uniform. In a moment, a nurse was surprised but later she answered that she didn’t know exactly but she also heard that their management buy from the online store, is that name. The store is leading on the medical uniform supplied, the nurse said. She continues their uniform design is great I am being cute by this uniform. My friends also fell like me. Our doctors also like the uniform because of simple, soft and air circulation.

Many people including me, find hospital to be a rather cold and creepy place. I always feel uncomfortable when I am in the hospital. When my mother-in-law was admitted to a private hospital for her surgery some time ago, I can't help but notice the uniforms worn by the staff at the hospital. Their attire was in lilac instead of the all-white uniform which we were familiar with. It is such a nice change to see the hospital staff in this colourful uniform. They certainly brighten up the whole hospital. When I mentioned this to a friend of mine who works as a nurse in one of the hospitals, she told me that their colourful uniforms are from ..
