Intolerance in the GOP Ranks

Now, I wouldn't vote for Mitt Romney for dog-catcher, but I think what's happened to him in New Hampshire and Iowa is disgraceful and deeply un-American. In case you haven't followed this, Romney was the target of push polling targeting his Mormonism. The other Republican campaigns have decried the tactic, but it's likely one of them is behind it. Creating doubts about a candidate's religion is clearly out of bounds. The New Hampshire Attorney General has launched an investigation; it's illegal there. For once, here's a statement from the Romney campaign I cannot disagree with in any way:

"Whichever campaign is engaging in this type of awful religious bigotry as a line of political attack, it is repulsive and, to put it bluntly, un-American. There is no excuse for these attacks."

And then there are the scurrilous insinuations in the mainstream conservative media of anti-Semitism against insurgent Republican Ron Paul...

Conspiracy because he made all that mmoney based on US history.

He should have bought this, it's the same as his money:

Larry is mentioning it because Plame worked at NSA(like her Air Force dad) working on domestic political groups like the one that just lost in court.

It looks like the domestic politcial group that sued wasn't allowed to because CIA(Plame) was investigating and NSA is passed over by the courts when it is a CIA investigator. This is good for CIA, Larry, Plame, and all those people at CIA that accessed files at NSA, like the FBI/CIA just arrested.

Larry is bringing this up because; Plame is probably involved, the CIA is probably involved, Specter(as in spook, booman) is probably involved wit Verizon and the telecoms will probably get immunity anyway because NSA was used by outsied agencies, like CIA, to access information that they have been banned from access by laws like IIPA; DoJ banning CIA access to an employtee file based on DoJ or DoD IIPA.

I am baffled at these tactics against Mitt Romney. What I enjoy and amuses me about the USA is the fact that evolution theory and Adam and Eve creationism co-exist with equal rights, constitutionally.
It is amazing that such a scientifically developed country can be so attached to religious beliefs. Then again, maybe it was the heritage of the Mayflower that gave us an edge.
I kind of feel sorry for Mitt.

Feel sorry for him? A Mormon who aligns himself with a Party where many of its leaders declare the USA a Christian nation. Mormonism just ain't close enough. Sorry Mitt. (Insert crocodile tears here.)
