Fred says this: "I'd love Six Apart to make it simple for me to elevate a comment to a post. So many great comments get wasted behind the front page."
That is exactly right. That would be a terrific feature for TypePad and one I'd use almost daily. For one, the comments on this site are the reason I stick around - it's about the conversation, baby. And secondly, the comments are often better, sharper, more thoughtful than my original posts! (No kidding. Really. No, I'm serious. Seriously. It's not all about me. Really). I see my posts generally as the starting point for some kind of discussion.
As long-time readers know, I'll often take a controversial stance to beg reaction. Further, as Tony Alva notes in comments on this post, he reads my blog because my viewpoint is pretty much out front - almost to a fault. Tony and I agree on few subjects, at least politically, but he's a great comment-writer - he gets that I'm trying to get something going. And mostly, so do the other regulars here.
So yeah, TypePad, take the free advice of a pretty sharp venture capitalist. Add the feature. Let the conversation deepen.
